UNIT 2- induction performances
Monday 9th October
Today we started tech-ing the dance show. It was good to finally get productive and hands on. I think the lighting and sound for the show was creative and interesting because it added to the emotion of the music and dance. It was fun to spend the day in the theater and be given the chance to work as a proper tech crew. During the process i learned how to fade lights in and out and recognize cues. The dancers where co-operative and i think the collaboration between the courses was positive.
Tuesday 10th October
Today was the day of the show and i was proud everything went well. I learned how the sound and light technicians had to cue each other so the lights come up or down and the music fades out or in.
Monday 11th September 2017
Today we was in the drama studio with the level 3 year 1 students.
We started with some simple activities to get to know each other. We then done a few improvisation activities eg. '1,2,3' 'yes lets and then'. This helped bring the groups energy levels up. After in partners we had to improvise a scene bout one of the actors has just been with their true love/ most amazing date in the world and the and the other actor wasn't really bothered. We then got handed a script of Shakespeare 'Romeo and Juliet' which was the play our college had chosen for the shakespeares school festival. We then discussed the about Shakespeares plays then we discovered how to change the boring qualities so it is entertaining. For example the notes that applied to us as we are the tech team was to make it more upbeat with music and sound effects and lighting that matches the moods and settings of the scene. We then doe a group read through of scene one and two to conclude the lesson.
Tuesday 14th november 2017
Today the level 3 year 1 class had their first rehersal for romeo and juilet in the theatre, I provided lighting and music for the whole show. This was really good practice for me and I really enjoyed adding red lighting for the scene where tybalt gets killed and adding dramtic war music, playing music at the party and adding a heartbreaking piano instrument playing faintly under juilets suicide monolouge.
